  • Why am I working from home?
Hello, my name is Iryna. I have been living in Switzerland since 2013. From the very first months after moving to this country, I rented a space in a Geneva salon for my nail studio. After working there for 8 years, I grew very tired of the daily commute from Gland to Geneva and back. This had a negative impact on my health, and I was forced to move my business home. I set up a nail studio on the second floor in my home, creating the most comfortable conditions for myself and my clients. I considered opening a studio near my home, but encountered one major obstacle, and it wasn’t about money. The main reason is the working hours regulated by the laws of the canton of Vaud. They require salons to operate only until 7:00 PM, until noon on Saturdays, and to be closed on Sundays and Mondays. My work schedule is adapted to my clients' needs. I work from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and also have full working days on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Therefore, I have decided to keep things as they are for now. I hope for your understanding.
  • How I do a complete pedicure?
Here, I will describe my method of performing a pedicure. I approach my work meticulously, regardless of the service, because it is important to me that every client leaves happy and returns with pleasure. Steps of My Pedicure Toe Treatment: I remove ingrown nails if they are growing into the skin and causing discomfort. I remove dead cuticles and skin around the toes. I file the nails to the desired shape, considering the client's wishes. Heel Cleaning: I use smart attachments for quick and effective heel cleaning. I remove cracks and rough calluses if they are present. Nail Coating: I apply nail polish or semi-permanent gel polish at the client's request (I have a large selection of colors, more than 250). Finishing Touch: I perform a light foot massage using cream. As a result, my clients leave with a smile on their faces, ready to show off their new feets. My work
  • What is the difference between semi-permanent gel polish and sculpting gel?
Semi-Permanent Gel Polish Semi-permanent gel polish, also known as Shellac, soak-off, or bio gel, is a hybrid gel system. These gels are very flexible, self-level easily when applied, and last from two to four weeks, depending on the client's nail plate characteristics. Under such a coating, nails feel more flexible, similar to natural nails. However, if the nails are thin, this system might not be suitable, as the material will start peeling off after 10-14 days. Removing Semi-Permanent Gel Polish There are two methods for removing semi-permanent gel polish: 1. Dissolving with acetone compresses: This method uses foil, cotton, and undiluted acetone. It is not eco-friendly, as it severely dehydrates the nail plate, making the nails brittle and dry, which can lead to onycholysis (separation of the nail from the nail bed). 2. Mechanical removal: A professional can use special tools to carefully remove the coating without aggressive chemicals. Sculpting Gel Sculpting gel is a strong and impact-resistant material that is not flexible, so nails under it do not bend even when wet. Many clients believe that artificial nails must be thick, but this is an outdated stereotype. A professional who has undergone advanced training knows how to properly build the architecture of the nail to make it thin yet strong. Advantages of Sculpting Gel - Strength and durability: Nails under this coating do not break in the stress zone, do not crumble, and can last up to 5 weeks. - Thinness and natural look: An experienced professional can create thin and elegant nails that look natural. - Quality of materials: It is important not to skimp on gels and other products. Good materials ensure comfort for the professional and a quality result for the client. Conclusion The work of a highly qualified professional who loves their job and uses quality materials will always be highly valued by clients. Such a professional can provide long-lasting and beautiful coverage that clients will return to again and again.
  • What is Russian Manicure?
First and foremost, it is a concept. This technique is popular in almost all, if not all, countries of the former CIS. The essence of the manicure lies in the deep treatment of the cuticle (dead skin that grows on the nail bed). Manicure Steps Removing the old coating: The technician removes the old nail polish or gel polish. Determining the nail shape: Discuss the desired nail shape with the client and file the nails to the required length and shape. Cuticle treatment: Push back the adhered cuticle from the nail so that it can be easily removed later. Cuticle removal: At the client's request, the cuticle is removed using one of the modern methods: hardware, combined, or mechanical. Sterilization of Tools A responsible technician always thoroughly sterilizes their tools. Usually, one set of tools is used per day, undergoing double sterilization: cold and hot. The tools and bits are treated in a tool oven at a temperature of 150 to 180 degrees Celsius and then stored in a sterile place or sterile packaging. Vigilant clients always ask the technician how the tools are sterilized, and the technician must explain the safety measures. Quality of Tools It is important that the tools are well-sharpened, especially for mechanical cuticle treatment. Well-sharpened tools ensure even cuticle growth. Poorly sharpened tools will tear the cuticle, which will look unsightly after two or three days, and hangnails can cause additional discomfort. Hardware Manicure Hardware manicure allows the cuticle to grow evenly and thinly, but there is a risk if the technician lacks experience. Incorrect use of the hardware can damage the nail bed, causing nail ridges, and over-trimming the cuticle, leading to severe pain. Conclusion Always ask the technician to show photos of their work to see the final result of the manicure after treatment. My works
  • Restoration of Injured Nails
Many people experience injuries to their toenails, particularly the big toe, which can look unappealing and cause discomfort when wearing open-toed shoes. Modern materials allow this problem to be resolved in just one procedure. Restoration Process Using sculpting materials, a new nail plate of any width and size can be created. It is crucial that the technician maintains hygiene in the workplace and thoroughly prepares the nail for the artificial extension, removing any obstacles that might promote bacterial growth. Maintaining the Result The client should regularly visit the technician to remove the old material, monitor nail hygiene, and refresh the coating. This ensures the durability and health of the restored nail. Conclusion Restoring injured nails allows for an aesthetically pleasing appearance and comfort when wearing shoes. Quality execution of the procedure and regular maintenance will help preserve nail health and client satisfaction.
